Sănătate publică

Misiunea departamentului este să promoveze buna guvernare în sectorul sănătății, să contribuie la sporirea accesului echitabil al populației la servicii de sănătate șI sociale care răspund nevoilor acestora, și să promoveze acțiuni responsabile pentru protecția mediului.

Mass-media

Misiunea departamentului: consolidarea societății deschise, participatorii și pluraliste, bazată pe valorile democratice, prin implementarea în activitatea instituțiilor mass-media din Republica Moldova a standardelor democratice de libertate și independență editorială, diversitate și pluralism, pentru susținerea democrației și consolidarea vectorului european de dezvoltare.

Extended deadline - World Hospice Day - Grant Competition

The Public Health Program of Soros Foundation – Moldova in partnership with International Palliative Care Initiative and Health Media Initiative of the Open Society Foundations is pleased to announce the launch of competition for mini-grants supporting the activities and events related to the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (October 12th, 2013).

Introduction
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is a unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world.

The theme for World Day 2013 is "Achieving universal coverage of palliative care: dispelling the myths".

The World Day is a key opportunity to raise awareness of hospice and palliative care amongst policy makers and engage them with palliative care activities at a local, national and global level.

The aims of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day are to:

  • share our vision of increasing the availability of hospice and palliative care by creating opportunities to speak out about the issues
  • raise awareness and understanding of the needs - medical, social, practical and spiritual - of people living with a life-limiting illness and of their families
  • raise funds to support the development of services.

Eligible organizations:
The eligible applicants are NGOs, other organizations working in healthcare domain, offering palliative care services. The activity area can be from any part of Republic of Moldova, no priority for geographical location will be given.

  • Abstract (not longer than ½ page)
  • Budget
  • Proofs of co-funding contributions from other organizations (if applicable)
  • Other relevant documents (Paragraph I from the Guide of solicitant for funding)

All documents must be in English and Romanian.

Project period
Usually the projects funded by SFM are up to 12 months of implementation. However, the applicants should focus on reasonable terms around the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day period.

Funding
The available funds are intended for mini grants.

Equipment, foreign travel, scholarships, and fellowships, and indirect costs (facilities and administration) are not eligible.

Proposal Review and Evaluation:
Each proposal will be reviewed and evaluated independently. The final decision will be issued by the Public Health Program Board.

Deadline:
Proposals and supporting documents must be received no later than June 17th, 2013 (extended deadline).

If you believe that your project meets the above-mentioned criteria, the Soros-Moldova Foundation invites you to submit the project proposal along with all the mentioned relevant documents not later than June 5th, 2013 by email at vcondrat@soros.md or in hard copy to the following address: 32, Bulgara Street, Chisinau (Soros – Moldova Foundation). In subject area, please mention “Application for World Day activities”.
